Benefits of Using Studs:
Provides a more secure foothold for the horse.
May help build the horse’s confidence whilst jumping.
Can improve the horse’s way of going.
Helps to prevent the horse slipping.
May help prevent the horse from falling.
Enables the horse to work on different terrains.
Limitations of Using Studs:
Can create an unbalanced hoof pastern axis.
Cannot be used on hard, solid ground.
May cause strains on the horse’s limbs if used incorrectly.
Could be a potential danger if the rider fell off and was struck by them.
May cause injuries to the horse’s limbs, if struck by a stud.
